Strengthen our collective coaching practice
Participants will elevate their coaching by drawing parallels between ICF’s Core Competencies and BECI’s coaching methodology, fostering a deeper connection to the skills and practice of coaching. Frequently Asked Questions
How many spaces are available in each program?
ICF limits the number of people in a group mentor coaching to 10 per session. In the enrollment form above you can see the number of spots available next to the program selection button.
What is the difference between the ACC and PCC credential?
The ACC credential requires 100 hours of coaching and one coaching recording and 60 hours of coach-specific education; PCC requires 500 hours of coaching, two coaching recordings and 125 hours of coach-specific education. The other requirements are the same.
Can you explain more about the ICF requirements?
The best place to go is the ICF website - we will do our best to support you in providing what they need but ultimately the Portfolio Path application is independent of BECI. Generally speaking, you need to document a certain number of coaching hours, submit a coaching session audio recording and transcript, pass a written credential test, and complete 10 hours of mentor coaching.
Do I need additional coach training hours?
The ECI program consisted of 81 hours of synchronous learning validated by written and oral examinations, as well as 12 hours of asynchronous learning activities, for a total of 93 hours of coach-specific training, which is more than enough for the ACC credential. If you are going for the PCC credential, you will need additional training hours. If you attended the Coaches Conference, that will count as “resource development” training (16 hours per conference attended).
Who should I record for my ICF submission?
ICF has specific requirements for your audio recording: “The performance evaluation must be a complete coaching session (not edited) lasting between 20 and 60 minutes. Coaching will not be scored beyond the 60-minute mark. The performance evaluation must be from an actual coaching session between you and a paid or pro bono client (not part of your coaching education). The client may not be a coach unless they are a regular client. A regular client is an individual who has come to you for coaching and for no other reason.” Complete requirement details can be found on the ICF website.
How do I get the most out of the ICF mentor coaching program?
We strongly recommend that you have current coaching clients while you are participating in the program. In addition, ideally you should have several clients who would be open to being recorded for your ICF submission. This will allow you to move through the ICF mentor coaching within the three-to-four-month long timeline without delay.
