Now, in this world turned upside down, our ability to connect with each other, make a positive impact on our world, and share heart and meaning is even more critical.

Secrets to Creating Your Circle of Influencers: How to Leverage Who You Know to get What You Want - Valerie Hope
African proverb: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." In times when we are forced to limit our physical contact with others, it’s crucial to know how to shine the light on whom to invite into your squad, your tribe, your crew, or your circle to fulfill your goal and visions of 2020 and beyond. When we intentionally seek to build meaningful relationships with people who possess key strengths, resources and connections, we optimize our chances for success. If you find you are not playing full out because you've run out of time, energy and ideas, consider this an opportunity to recharge and rebuild those stretch goals that are waiting for you.
Step 1 in Authentic Leadership – Relationship with Self - Shawn Comboy & Alison Godfey
What is that pesky voice in your head whispering? Is it empowering you or is it standing in your way? We all know how important relationships are to us and have examples of those that have helped us navigate some of our most difficult times. In this session we will examine our most important relationship—the one that we have with ourselves! How we show up for ourselves plays a big role in how we show up for others and how successful we are at being authentic—as leaders, as coaches, and as human beings. This will be a fast-paced exploration of how we are showing up for ourselves and the impact it has on our authenticity. Bring your energy, an openness to be honest with yourself and to share with the group and we promise you’ll leave with tangible actions to transform those voices into a stronger support mechanism for growth!
What Else Doc? Coaching Nuances and Strategies for Medical Culture - Monique Jericho & April Elliott
Imagine a career trajectory with a passion that sustains 15 years of intensive academic competition and training, and spirals down into a barren psychic space, where half of your colleagues are depersonalized, demoralized and chronically exhausted? As physicians, we have explored the rocky terrain of the medical profession and have asked ourselves: why? Dr’s Jericho and Elliott, physicians with extensive experience in leadership, mentorship, training, and coaching, are inviting you to experience the world of the physician client. This session connects the journey of the healthcare professional to coaching techniques that work within the sometimes alexithymic culture of medicine. The session will also apply to those who coach individuals in high stress jobs, especially now during Covid19 with many lines blurred and many facing burnout.

You’ve Been Asked to Submit a Coaching Proposal – Now What?!? - Anita Mires
You’ve cultivated a relationship for your coaching services and it’s looking good for a client engagement. Then the client says that before you can proceed, you need to submit a proposal. But you’ve never done a proposal before. Or you have but aren’t sure if you prepared it correctly. In any event, you could use some help in decoding and perfecting the proposal process. In this workshop, we’ll discuss how to make sure your proposal hits the mark and gives you a good shot at being considered. Step-by-step instructions and a template will be provided.
Flattening' the Sales Learning Curve - J. Ryan Williams
Of all the coaching skills, SALES is the one that comes least naturally to many coaches. And worse than learn learning a new skill, practicing this skill, one proposal at a time, gets lonely quick. In this facilitated discussion we'll bring together a peer group who has experienced similar pains in selling programs but also a group that will share what is working in their sales practice. We'll be candid and employ "vegas rules" to encourage open sharing of what and how we do it and for those comfortable we'll get into how to think about pricing for coaching programs.
Courageous Coaching for Diversity - Bill Collins & Tonya Echols
Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging issues require coaches to access deeper levels of expertise. In this interactive session, we will explore the internal and external work coaches must undertake to effectively engage clients on the often deeply rooted impact of systemic/institutional bias in the workplace either as an agent or a target. Learn what it means to be a diversity-informed coach and the delicate balance that must be maintained to hold the client’s agenda without judgment while challenging them to face thoughts and behaviors that foster bias and racism.
The Coach/Mentor Hybrid: A New Breed - Mark Thomson & Don Borges
As BECI Coaches, we have been trained and certified in a focused and unique world-class protocol of amazing heart and meaning! It is a profound process that has proven to be extremely effective at every level of professional and personal development. We believe that BECI belongs at the front of this growing movement. Let’s study this “new breed” and determine how to brand ourselves in this new arena. How and when to utilize Mentoring while at the same time honoring - indeed enhancing - the integrity of our BECI Coaching.

Coaching in Turbulent Times with Mark Rittenberg & Ingrid Gavshon
“I can’t breathe I can’t breathe;” millions of Americans woke up to the murder of George Floyd. The cities burnt brightly with protests as racial injustice rang out once again. A defining election where results matter and don’t matter based on the “lose / lose” situation that Americans find themselves in. A threatening pandemic has sent everyone home to shelter in place. Work and home operate from the same bedroom, living room, family room. No private time, all running together like the rivers in our minds.
Coaching in turbulent times must meet the challenges that people are facing, and a kinder, more compassionate coaching is required. Small gains ... Families take a walk in the park, everybody cooks together, a Scrabble game! Holidays are celebrated online as Zoom calls crisscross the country and beyond to bridge the divide.
The session will speak about the different sorts of coaching relationships between coach and client and hear from the people attending, and what they have discovered as life affirming actions as they move into coaching individuals and groups in turbulent times
Moving Forward Together - Doy Charnsupharindr & Mehmet Sevinç
As we bring the coaches conference to a close, we look ahead to the future toward great possibilities. Let's take a moment to pause and reflect on what you are taking away from our time together. What are some of the acts of leadership that you can commit to? And how will you be able to continue to stay engaged with this community as we move forward together?
2019 Coaches Conference & 10th Anniversary Celebration
“The Coaching Conference multiplies the value of the BECI experience. It served to refresh, reinforce, supplement and extend the training received in the certification process. The sessions focused on the business of building and running a thriving coaching practice were extremely helpful. The best part, though, was meeting a lot of great people from other cohorts and reconnecting with my “classmates” and the incomparable BECI faculty members.”
